Stay Fit with Deep Breathing

It was a pleasant surprise when I saw the cover page of the September, 2009 edition of the Reader’s Digest. A main stream magazine like RD promoting Deep Breathing for Fitness – wow!
I turned the pages quickly to read the main article inside. Yes, the text does mention the importance of more of oxygen moving all over the body and also that of the food that we eat. But alas, it stops at that!

I wish the writer of the piece had done a bit of research and established the ultimate link between the role that more oxygen plays in releasing energy from the food, or rather the nutrients that have been extracted from the food that we have eaten properly. This is because it is ultimately energy that we require and are running desperately short of, especially as we grow older.

Still, it is a beginning…so no complaints there.
